CELEBRATION is an eight lesson course for children 8½ to 12½, designed to help raise their self images. CELEBRATION helps children by setting up a successful environment for them to enjoy many growth experiences such as:

1. INCREASED SELF CONFIDENCE. They learn to see themselves as a more unique valuable person.
2. DISCOVER NEW ABILITIES WITHIN THEMSELVES. They find new strengths and gain a greater understanding of their special abilities.
3. LEARN HOW TO RELATE AND COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS. They learn about their own attitudes and how they influence the way people feel about them.
4. DEAL WITH ANGER. They learn why they get angry and how to handle it in a creative way.
5. GREATER ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND HANDLE PROBLEMS. They learn that everyone has problems and makes mistakes. They discover positive ways to solve problems.
6. DEVELOP GOAL SETTING SKILLS. They learn to set meaningful objectives in school, play, family and their special interests.

The Pikes Peak church of Christ sponsored this course in January and February 2007.  The final class session for our 14 students was a graduation dinner with speeches made by each participant.  Each talk covered the child's favorite class topic, memory verse and how they will put in practice what they've learned.

Special thanks to Larry and Martha Grizzell and their grand-daughter Lauren for their excellent work teaching this class!

Larry congratulates Bethany, presenting her award for being selected as the "Most Improved" by her classmates.

These benefits will show up in many areas of the child's life, such as making better grades, mixing with other children more freely, being more cooperative at home, doing better in sports, and other activities and having more self discipline.

The children receive manuals, cassettes and several other colorful materials. They also receive awards, diplomas and other exciting printed pieces.

The classes are conducted in a totally non-critical atmosphere. The children are never put down or made to feel that they have failed. The children are constantly encouraged, built-up and made to feel important. They grow more confident and capable of dealing with peer pressure.

Adventures in Celebration is taught by Larry and Martha Grizzell of Lake George, Colorado, both faithful members of the Lord's church.
